Smashburger’s a Smash

Smashburger, a new addition to the growing population of restaurants in the 45th St. West Acres area has opened its doors. The new burger establishment is situated just a few doors down from Hu Hut on 45th St. This strip mall plaza has become a food court of sorts being host to several restaurants.

Smashburger’s location in the strip mall will give you an idea of its overall size. Seating for 75 or less, but given that they are on the quick service side of dinning finding a place to sit should not be a problem. The inside was clean and not over the top with the décor, a nice modern feel. I enjoyed the use of up to date wire baskets and the interesting dinnerware used as their take on the classic burger basket. Beware families with younger children this may prove to be messy but that shouldn’t be a big surprise.

Burgers and chicken fill Smashburger’s menu. A quick glance at the menu will reveal that they are a burger and chicken sandwich spot. The menu does have a selection of salads for the lighter more health conscious patron. The prices are reasonable for the portion sizes, everything under $7. I had the 1/3 lbs. North Dakota burger, a 2-cheeseburger on a pretzel bun along with the Harvest chicken salad. The meal came out hot and fast from the kitchen, except for the salad of course. I would have been disturbed if the salad would have been hot. To finish of my tour of Smashburger’s menu I had a Haagen Dasz chocolate milk shake.  I can’t even begin to explain how full I was when I waddled myself out the door. Take a look at the menu online and if you find yourself in the area swing into Fargo’s newest burger joint and see what you think.
