2nd Annual B-B-BRRR Winter Classic

Bundle up, grab your helmet and get ready to ride in this year’s 2nd Annual B-B-BRRR Winter Classic! The Great Northern Bicycle Co. is excited to host this fun event on Sunday, January 29th at the Fargo Community Gardens. The ride will be held on the multi-use path just north of the 4th Ave N railroad tracks. Enjoy biking but not a pro? The race is open to anyone and experience is not required, so don’t hesitate to sign up.

Registration will begin at noon the day of the race and cost is $25 per person, or $20 with a student ID. Each participant will also receive a race t-shirt. The only requirement for each person is that they bring their own bike and helmet. The race committee is also excited
to announce a ‘Fat’ bike category, new for this year’s race. Tires on each bike in this category must be a minimum of 3.7 inches. The course is a total of 6 laps, making it a full 10k race.

Not only is this a fun bike event, there will also be door prizes after the race! That means, with your $25 entry fee, and close to $2,000 in giveaways, there’s a pretty good chance that you’re going home with an awesome prize. All giveaways are bike related, so you’ll be ready to ride year round. Haven’t been to the bike shop? Stop in at the downtown location at 425 N Broadway and check out everything they have to offer. The Great Northern Bicycle Co. is a locally-owned bike shop!

Celebrating their 25th year in business this year, they have been proud to provide the FM area with their cycling needs and pride themselves on customer service, knowledge, and professional work. They have staff from a variety of backgrounds and love to chat about anything to do with cycling. The shop carries bikes from Specialized, Raleigh, Bianchi, Surly, Diamondback and more. Not only do they sell bikes and accessories, they are also a full service repair shop.

The 2nd Annual B-B-BRRR Winter Classic is right around the corner! Grab your helmet and favorite bike and head out to the race on Saturday, January 29th. The course is a full 6 laps around a 1-mile loop over prairie grass, paved multi-use path, and the frozen Red River. This year, depending on the condition of the river, studded tires may be desired by most—but certainly not necessary. If you didn’t make it out last year, you don’t know what you’re missing! Bundle up and join us for this year’s fun-filled race.
