Fights For A Cause

Warm up for Halloween while comfortably sitting back with a beer in hand by watching combatants bear all in the name of entertainment. This Saturday MMA comes back to The Venue, promising Fargo-Moorhead an exciting night of fights and the opportunity for girls and guys to test out their ring girl and Danna White costumes.
Good times are guaranteed along with the satisfaction of supporting not only the local fight scene, but the local community as well. Half of the proceeds from the next 100 tickets sold will be going to those affected directly by the Galleria fires.
MAX Fights has also rounded up $300 in proceeds at their October 15th Ring Girl contest, and donations for the victims of the Galleria fire will be accepted at this Saturday’s upcoming fights.
Damian Holznagel, MAX Fights Owner, has this to say about it, “After talking to some people who had lived there, it’s tough not to reach out to them. The proceeds from ticket sales come directly out of what would be our money, but all the rest is just community members stepping up when people need them; something North Dakota is known for.”
On the card expect to see Zack Shroeder, who is coming off of a first round victory over Mike Plazola; Nate Baker; and the debut of MSUM wrestler, Tim Johnson.
Combined with an entertaining card, The Venue definitely has its advantages. It offers a unique and personal viewing area by placing a ring in the center of its dance floor, allowing spectators to gather at ground level and above. Traditional arenas don’t allow this, instead placing a large buffer between the fans and the cage, while jacking up the prices for closer seats.
Opting for a closer seat at The Venue will just make the experience that more personal, allowing fans to get closer to the fighters and the action. Vampires with ringside seating should look forward to the occasional spray of blood.
This is the perfect opportunity to witness this area’s rising MMA talent. UFC’s Chris Tuchscherer and Jacob Volkmann, Spike’s TUF contestant Dane Sayers, the WEC’s Pablo Garza and the new Bellator Heavyweight Champion, Cole Konrad, have all fought on a MAX Fights card, making this the only local promotion with such an extensive track record.
So put on your Batman costume, head on over to The Venue and support the Galleria fire victims, while keeping your eyes peeled for MMA’s next big name…or I might have to armbar your beer arm and take sips off your frosty brew while you tap furiously.
