Summer Solstice Party: An Evening of En"Light"enment

Despite all of the recent less than perfect “summer” weather, the Summer Solstice is quickly approaching. There are plenty of different ways to spend your time on the longest day of the year, but Susie Ekberg and Melissa Schaff hope that you spend two hours with them that evening. It’s an evening of Light on the longest day with readings from Susie and readings & Reiki from Melissa, a Summer Solstice Party.

The date: Monday, June 21. Ekberg and Schaff are hosting an Evening of En"Light"enment at Go Far Woman in south Fargo. “The Summer Solstice is coming up, so why not gather the people?” said Ekberg. “It’s a great way to bring people together.”

The event, which runs from 7 to 9 and costs $20 to attend, is focused on positive energy and Reiki healing. According to the website http://www.Reiki.org, Reiki is “a Japanese technique for stress reduction and relaxation that also promotes healing. It is based on the idea that an unseen ‘life force energy’ flows through us and is what causes us to be alive.” If your energy is low then you are more likely to become sick and if it is high you are more likely to be a happy, healthy person.

A brief discussion of what is energetically going on in the world right now will kick off the evening, followed by a brief meditation period. “Melissa and I will take turns picking people to come to the front so we can do Reiki healing and intuitive readings for them. I find it very powerful to include everyone in these readings because even if you aren’t the one getting the reading, you can find something that pertains to you, as well, so you get a multifold benefit from being in a group experience,” said Ekberg.

The night will be wrapped up with a inspirational and supportive message addressed to the whole group. “The atmosphere created by doing the gathering this way is almost indescribable. It’s almost as if the whole room feels warm,” said Ekberg, “and everyone seems happier.”
“We want to empower YOU to be the best you can be,” say Ekberg and Schaff.

Monday’s event serves as a sneak peek into a series of classes that will be offered in the fall. The series begins on Sept. 14, with a kick-off party at The Energy Center, 114 Broadway, Suite S3, and classes continue throughout December.

Melissa Schaff has been involved with Reiki since 2000. She owns Inner Focus Reiki and teaches all levels of Usui Reiki. Melissa is a gifted intuitive who blends channeled intuitive information along with the ancient healing art of Reiki. Melissa is one of only a few who are able to do so. This combination creates a unique, validating and restorative experience.

Susie Ekberg has been practicing Reiki since 1998, and has done over 5000 intuitive readings. Her column, “The Next Step,” has been a favorite at the HPR for the past four years. She has written four books, and written and produced two meditation CDs.

Tues, Sept 21. You’re Intuitive, and I’ll Prove it to You! Taught by Susie Ekberg. A hands-on, experiential class delving into the mysteries of the unseen. She’ll have you working with your own intuition while providing insights through a few mini-readings on people.
