Keith Urban

• Born in Whangerei, New Zealand.

• Known for playing multiple instruments; including the guitar, bass, mandolin, piano, and sitar.

• After releasing one record in his Nashville-formed band The Ranch, Urban released his platinum-selling self-titled American debut.

• Urban is an environmentalist who played the Live Earth concert and runs his tour buses on biodiesel.

• In 2007, he was involved in a motorcycle accident after being followed by a photographer trying to “do his job” according to Urban. Neither party was injured.

• Urban has stated that he lost musical equipment in the recent Nashville flooding.

• Urban has played previous WE Fests including 2003, 2006, and 2007.

Kid Rock

• Born in Romeo, Michigan, outside of Detroit.

• His name is derived from a compliment he frequently heard at parties he DJed: “that kid can rock.”

• Kid got his start in the music business by rapping, and has straddled the genres of rap, rock, country, and others.

• He made a cameo as “Kidney Rock” in the cartoon movie Osmosis Jones, starring Bill Murray.

• He crossed over into the mainstream with his 1997 album “Devil Without A Cause,” on which he played most of the instruments.

• Kid has been nominated for five Grammys.

• This will be Kid Rock’s first WE Fest performance.

Kenny Chesney

• Born in Knoxville, TN.

• Played baseball and football in high school.

• The track “She’s Got It All” from 1997’s “I Will Stand” was his first #1 hit, although eight of his previous singles reached the Billboard charts.

• The hit single “When the Sun Goes Down” features former Kid Rock DJ Uncle Kracker as a guest vocalist.

• His 2008 hit “Everybody Wants to Go to Heaven” features instrumental and vocal backing from The Wailers, the original band of late reggae legend Bob Marley.

• Previous WE Fest performances include 2004, 2006, and 2008 spots.
