An Outsider Looking into UNI-T
I honestly don’t know why I arrived there. Maybe it was the morass of (mostly inebriated) patrons that protruded outta Dempsey’s Irish pub. Maybe it was the twenty-something couple who staggered along Broadway, smiling, unwittingly retaining the attention span of the F-M weekend crowd … And after completing my very first 40-hour shift, ever, the idea arrived to spring my attentions away from the job force, landing me downtown once more.
Get Dirty
Volunteers will be gathering in the U.S. Bank Plaza on Thursday, May 24 to get their hands dirty and clean up downtown Fargo. The event is an effort of the River Inspired Service Engine (R.I.S.E.).
Going the Distance: Surviving the Fargo Marathon
Starting in 2005 with 2,400 participants, participation in the premier marathon has ballooned each year. Runner’s World magazine ranked this event, with more than 20,000 runners, as the 8th Best Overall Marathon in America. For a country that hosts marathons in practically every major city, a top ten ranking is an extraordinary accomplishment. To have people from all 50 states drawn to run in such a small city is just another example of why this event is so exceptional.
