I’ve lived in North Dakota for all but 9 months of my life. I was 6 feet tall when I was 12, and have never really gotten used to it - I still hit my head on a lot of things, which may explain some things. I played basketball all of my school years, and loved it. Majoring in English was my top priority, however. Oh, and boys. I was a faithful church lady up until around 1989, when I started branching out. I became a Reiki Master in 1998, and started my work of helping people discover more about themselves by developing their intuition. Religion? Um, that term feels a little restrictive to me. I LIVE my religion every moment of the day, but I’d more accurately just call it my Life. I’m just me.
I have four children, ranging from 22 down to 8, and I consider mothering to be the most important work that I do. I’m a certified book reader freak, always have been, not going to change. I cook to relax, I get sore wrists from playing Guitar Hero (hey, I’m almost up to Hard now, and am listening to “Knights of Cydonia” as I type), and have been known to throw my shoulder out playing Wii bowling. A perfect day? A decaf latte, a comfortable chair, a great book - wait, that’s my 8 year old’s idea of a perfect day. Well, me, too. My goal in life? To be fully present in my life for more than one minute chunks of time, to be as loving and kind to others as possible, to be gentle with myself, to be happy.
I love my parents, who live in Bismarck. They are my role models and my inspiration. I spend as much time possible with them because life is short and they aren’t! Seriously, they’re getting older, and we just never know what’s around the next corner. Through their adversities, they never fail to remain polite and grateful and gracious and generous. They are, in one word, unbelievable. I’m married to a quirky, sweet, incredibly handsome man who makes me laugh. I can’t think it can get much better than this, then I wake up to another day and more fun.
