August 8 What’s Happening GF!

What a great weekend coming up—and no rain forecast! Get ready to get down at Town Square on Saturday night. The Greater Grand Forks Visitors and Convention Bureau and the Canad Inn are dishing up some summer blues. Blues on the Red is the first of two blues events to be held downtown. (Another one is scheduled for September 20 and will feature Little Donny and the Groovetones.) Expect to see more of these next year! Headlining the first Blues on the Red is Little Bobby & The Storm, a monster five-piece from Thief River Falls that produces solid, straight-up blues,. They have a killer harmonica player! Grand Forks’ Peatmoss will open. Admission is free, though you’ll have to pay for your beer in the beer garden.

Also this weekend, come on down to the Crosstown after the doings at Town Square and get a taste of the Caribbean and more with the Minneapolis band Jon Wayne & The Pain. Their groove starts at 10 pm, and the cover is cheap, only $5 and you get a free beer! Jon Wayne & The Pain
