Nestival Invades Nestors Next Week

WBPN will host a very special event at The Nestor in Fargo next week. Nestival is a showcase of bands, three of which will be at the Bella Sol Festival at the end of the month and at Log Jam in June.

“We wanted to throw a big old party just for the heck of it,” WBPN says. “Five big acts in one crazy night…This party will also help us celebrate the end of the school year and the beginning of the summer festival season. Mark it on your calendar and tell your friends to be at The Nestival!”

Two Minneapolis bands, God Johnson and Hyentyte, will return to the region for this event. God Johnson was recently up in Grand Forks this past April with Marc Ryan Ouellette, the drummer from Hyentyte, so fans there got a taste of both bands. God Johnson, WBPN, and Hyentyte all played the 10,000 Lakes Festival back in 2005 and got to know each other.

“We’re really good friends with WBPN, those gentlemen from Fargo,” says Vinh Nguyen, one of the guitarists from Hyentyte. “We pretty much would do anything for those guys that is humanly possible. So that’s why we’re coming up from the Cities to play Fargo.” Hyentyte will bring their six-piece jam/rock/reggae band with its huge sound and killer drum/percussion section.

WBPN will, of course, play their own brand of jazz/jam/funk/rock/electronica mix, and God Johnson does what only those jam/rockers can to pull dancing bodies out on the dance floor. Rounding out the bill is Rattafattat, a live PA house/trance/techno band and DJ Baktatr, one of Fargo’s hottest DJs with some serious rhymes.
