Renowned Blues Guitarist Graces Fargo

When you think of great blues musicians, what names come to mind? Muddy Waters, Eric Clapton, Bonnie Raitt, B.B. King and Stevie Ray Vaughn are some. Popular culture seems to have less room for the genre since artists like Flo-rida and The Jonas Brothers hit the airwaves.

Patience for enjoying great songwriting is starting to appear non-existent among young people today. There are many artists playing music that deserve to be recognized by the public, and are often shrugged to the side.

Ana Popovic is my greatest musical find of the year. She is one of those undeniably talented artists that blow your mind at first listen. Natural born raw talent mixed with her intriguing, angelic facial features leaves nothing to be unrecognized.

Ana has played an impressive 152 shows so far this year in the U.S., Canada, and overseas, delivering her unrivaled blend of rootsy blues, smooth jazz and thick saturated grooves that will leave you lost for days.

Born into a musical family in the old town of Belgrade, formerly Yugoslavia, Ana was introduced to the guitar at age 15. Her love and passion for music and the guitar inspired her to become perhaps one of the most unique and original blues artists of our time.

Her new album, “Still Making History,” marks Ana’s first U.S. release and has found its place for the past 18 months on the top of the U.S. Billboard charts. She brings her electric show to the 2008 Fargo Blues Festival this Friday night.
