Saturday Night Annihilate

Do you wanna rock right now? Are you Rob Base? Did you come to get down?
If you answered yes to any of these questions, paraphrased from Rob Base and DJ E-Z Rock’s classic “It Takes Two,” then show up and throw down this weekend at Saturday Night Annihilate.

This one night local hip-hop mini-festival is sure to have heads nodding and hands waving. The show is being organized and played by the DJs of the South Moorhead Scratch Dungeon, as well as some of their friends within the local scene.

The night starts out with Hotribs, a Fargo MC who will be bringing a Def Jux (read: Aesop Rock) modern underground vibe.

And it only gets better after that. Fargo DJ Cheef will drop everything from grime and dubstep to new style hip hop beats and classic turntable-ism.

Fellow F-side DJ Stupid Birthday will also be rockin’ the tables later on in the night with an iconoclastic mixing style of strange yet attractive combinations.

Coming out of Moorhead, DJ Mummy Fingers will be giving Atmosphere-esque rhythms and rhymes, with the added bonus of being “a goddamn 100,000 year old mummy from the future.”

Later into the night, Toff the Technician will get technical on the scratches, followed by DJ Just9.

Experimental beatboxer Slowkid will take the stage with instruments like the harmonica and the Australian didgeridoo, as well as, of course, his voice.

To round out the South Moorhead Scratch Dungeon’s vulgar display of power, Male Enhancement Pill shows up at the foot of the bill.

Special guests for the night are Charles Dickens, Tony Beatbox, and Bucknastee.
With a line up as stacked as any recent Yankees roster, Saturday Night Annihilate this year will for sure prove to be a night of fun and fury.

If you have other plans, cancel them. If you don’t have other plans, make them just to cancel them. This is one night you won’t want to miss.
