The Birthday Suits

“Better than birthday cakes or birthday parties. Not quite as good as birthday sex, though” -The Birthday Suits’ Myspace page.
TBS was formed in the twisted steel and concrete jungles of Minneapolis/St. Paul in 2005. Later that year they released their first album, “Cherry Blue.” The disc caught like fire in the paper hearts of fans and critics alike all across the country. With such buzz fueling them, they have been able to tour nationally over the past few years.
TBS are anything but your modern day cookie cutter rock band. Made up of only two members Mathew (drums/vocals) and Hideo (guitar/vocals), their sound is pure garage rock that punches you in the mouth with a punk attitude, and screamed lyrics that will leave you deaf for a week.
Fresh off their first European tour, they will be dropping their second album at the end of March, titled “The Minnesota Mouth to Mouth.”
While staying relatively unknown in the mainstream, TBS has been making headlines underground. Minneapolis’ local paper The City Pages awarded them the title of best live band in 2006. Their live performances have been fierce, unhinged, extremely high energy, and just plain sweaty.
The Birthday Suits will be gracing the Fargo/Moorhead area March 1st at the Aquarium. To see more you can visit them at http://www.myspace.com/birthdaysuits.
Special guests Brasstronaut are from Vancouver, do soul; and we haven’t seen the Cass County Uglies in months.
