The Suit at Gio’s Halloween Show

An established Fargo band might just be upping their ante next summer.
F-M area hardcore veterans The Suit have been selected as final competitors in a contest determining who will play on the Ernie Ball Music Company Stage of the famed Vans Warped Tour. To get to this position, they entered themselves in the Vans Warped Tour/Ernie Ball Battle of the Bands, along with 14,000 other groups. After being voted by fans into the top 100, an unbelievable feat in and of itself, the band was selected by a panel as one of the top 4 in that 100.
Now, The Suit is gearing up to play in a final live competition at the Warped Tour after party in Hollywood on December 3.
The Suit has already won a slot on their hometown stop during this summer’s tour, but are playing for even bigger stakes in December. Along with a two-week performing slot on the Tour, Ernie Ball and its affiliates will provide the winning band with a $15,000 equipment shopping spree at Guitar Center, a 3 song EP produced by hit-crafter Matt Squire, and a full Ernie Ball Music Man endorsement, among other prizes. This ain’t your grandma’s battle of the bands.
This summer, the band released their second EP, The Way We Fall. They also have one LP released, entitled We’ve Come With Nothing.
The Vans Warped Tour completed it’s fifteenth annual tour this August. The tour is primarily sponsored by shoe company Vans and started as a traveling punk festival and has diversified as time goes go on, including artists as far apart in styles as pop singer Katy Perry and punk legends the Germs in the same year. It has become a staple and, in some cases, a tastemaker in contemporary music.
The Suit will be playing a Halloween show at Gio’s Event Center in Moorhead this Friday. After this, they will play one last show before getting ready to compete in Hollywood.
To the Suit: godspeed. Make us proud.
