House Bill 1553 Will Affect Small Businesses: Kim Patterson, Fargo

My name is Kim Patterson; I own Fantasy’s in Fargo. My store will be impacted by House bill 1553. This bill will regulate all adult businesses and adult activities such as burlesque shows in every city in ND.

The major changes are: no alcohol in strip clubs, where adult stores can be located, and what an adult store is. There is also language included about nude models in Art schools.

I feel that the bill will do more harm then good. The changes that business will have to make will cause financial hardships to small businesses possibly causing some to close. If this happens it will mean a loss of jobs, and customers will still buy these product—they will just go online and order them sending dollars out of state.
