If you’re in the mood for some smooth jazz music, you have so many opportunities to immerse yourself in jazz concerts around Fargo! First of all, you can visit Studio 222 every Thursday night this summer. Thursday, June 9 is the next gig, starting at 8 p.m. The cover charge is $10 for adults and $5 for students. You can also hear jazz at Basies at the Ramada every Thursday from 7:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. If you’re busy on Thursdays, try Jazz at the Red Raven every other Sunday at 9:00 p.m. There’s a $3 cover, and they recommend you bring your horn.

Concordia College Concert Series

Concordia College continues showcasing their strong musicians, even throughout the summer! Concordia will be featuring a summer Concert Series on three separate days throughout the summer. The first outdoor concert is June 16 at Olin Hill, which is located on campus right next to the Bell Tower. All ages are welcome to attend and the concert is free. The concert begins at 7:00 p.m. All seating is outdoor seating.

Guitar duo Patchouli is coming back to Fargo to play at the Rush Hour Concert at the Plains Art Museum, next Wed. June 15! Patchouli has been described as being a blend of pop, folk, flamenco and jazz and won the Songwriter of the Year Award at the Unvarnished Music Festival in Worthington, MN in 2010. They also recently received the title of the “#1 Folk Act” in Chicago. Show begins at 5:30 p.m. Tickets are free, but a $5 donation is suggested. “The Unapologetic Landscape” Exhibit

Photographer Chuck Kimmerle’s exhibit, titled “The Unapologetic Landscape”, will be featured at North Dakota State University’s Memorial Union Gallery starting on June 3. According to Kimmerle, “It is my hope that the viewer will come away with an expanded appreciation for stillness and reticence and with an understanding that a spectacular vista holds no more visual value than do the supposedly “featureless” plains.” Kimmerle’s pieces will be for sale at the exhibit. NDSU will be hosting “The Unapologetic Landscape” until July 1.

Queer Canadian Süss Concert

Queer Canadian Süss will be performing LIVE at the Red Raven next Tues. June 7. This musician performs songs that are a blend of folk, indie and melodramatic pop. According to Süss, “The recommended donation is $10, but no one will be turned away. I will be playing songs from my 2007 album, I Just Ride My Bike, and songs written towards a sophmore album as well, that are currently being worked on in the studio, including a song vaguely about the Rapture.” Show begins at 7:30 p.m., see you there!

Fargo-Moorhead Kennel Club Dog Show

There are a ton of great events happening at the fair this June, one of them being the Fargo-Moorhead Kennel Club Dog Show! Visit the Red River Valley Fair between this Thurs. June 2 and Sun. June 5 to see all of the doggy competitors try for best in show. The show will be located in the Hartl Agricultural Building, Horticulture Building, Commercial Building and Arts & Crafts Building.
