Letter to the Editor: Melissa Sobolik, Fargo, ND

To the editor:

Watching President Obama address Congress, I am certain that now is the right time to reform healthcare. Working at the Great Plains Food Bank, I see families faced with impossible decisions everyday: Do I buy food or my medication? Should I pay rent or take my kid to the doctor?  No one should face choosing one basic need over another. We need real solutions to the health care problem and we need them now.

I thank President Obama for understanding and calling attention to this issue and I sincerely hope Congressman Pomeroy and Senators Dorgan and Conrad support healthcare reform for all Americans.
