Losers of the Sugar Wars

Dear Editor,

Great article without taking sides. I am a worker in North Dakota, and as our minister said to me in church a few weeks ago, “there appears to be absolutely no justification for the actions that have and are being taken by American Crystal”.

I feel one person has planned this since 7 years ago. A contract was presented and he was told to sign it. Now he is the CEO and apparently no one can tell him anything. Now local ads are running to hire temp replacements that will ruin more relationships in the valley.

I never thought I would ever witness a company behaving in this manor in ND, but now I have.

There appears to be no settlement in the immediate future. There were so many things taken from the employees and so little in return our CEO was sure of how we would react to the company’s “FINAL OFFER”.

So sad I see no one ‘winning’ in this dispute, only more losers…
