Randy Jay Richards: Duane Sand for Congress

To the Editor:

I am writing to my friends and neighbors throughout North Dakota and urging them to get out the vote.

Our gas prices are high, energy worries abound, taxes are too high, and we have a Congress that is responsible for one of the biggest economic meltdowns in history.

Our current Congressman was a part of this meltdown and has received thousands from the failed Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac.

This sickens me. I don’t care what party you are in, I am urging a change this November. I am urging you to vote for Duane Sand for Congress.

The one thing we should all be able to agree on regardless of our tastes in presidents, sports, or social issues is that our representatives need to be responsible and represent our best interests.

We need cheap energy like clean coal, oil, nuclear, and bio. I have many friends at Grand Forks Air Force Base from all parties and cheap energy is something that we hands down agree on.

If we don’t unite on this topic, then money that can benefit the North Dakota economy will be lost to the sucking sound of our gas tanks.

Duane Sand is championing cheap fuel. Earl Pomeroy has voted against cheap energy opportunities six times this year. Between this and his financial gain from Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac I say enough is enough.

This is a guy who sits on the committee that oversees Social Security and we all know that it is a total mess.

What in the world are they doing in Congress? He has been in Congress for close to sixteen years and it just keeps getting worse.

I’m scared for our future in this state. We can’t control everything in government, but we can control who are representatives will be.

I am urging you to make a change this year and elect Duane Sand to Congress. Our economy and our state can no longer afford Mr. Pomeroy. Let’s give someone else an opportunity to right the ship.

Thank you for your time. Your paper is a nice addition to my local coffee house. You all do great work.
