Sarah Palin: A George Bush With Boobs

I have listened to Alaska Governor Sarah Palin during the Republican Convention, the vice-presidential debate, the limited interviews she has conducted, whether Katie Couric or “Fair and Balanced” Fox News, campaign events, and news stories broadcast about her. I also have a file of news stories, articles, and sketches published in national newspapers and magazines.

Corky’s sister and husband have lived in Alaska for over forty years, spending their working lives in Eagle River and Anchorage. They are now retired to Homer. Our oldest son Mark moved back to Alaska three years ago after spending about five years in the 90’s working in Juneau, the capital. He lived for a short time in Wasilla where Mrs. Palin was mayor. Now he has moved to Soldotna, south of Anchorage, the fishing paradise of the world on the Kenai River. We have traveled extensively by RV in the state. I think our family knows a little bit about Alaska, its straight and crooked politicians, its wonderful people, and its breath-taking terrain.

And this is why I think Sarah Palin is an empty suit with the same reckless personal and political philosophy, supposedly the same fundamentalist religious beliefs, and remarkably, some of the same erratic working habits, incurious personal traits, and ideological obsessions as George Bush. Sarah—doggone it—is just another George Bush with boobs.

While “twinkling and winking” (as one reporter described it), she has demonstrated the same blissful ignorance, arrogance, incoherent speaking-in-tongues gibberish, and belligerent stubbornness so typical of Lurch. She may be a bit brighter than Bush, but she has not displayed much intelligence yet.

Sarah says God told us to invade Iraq and that He had a hand in building a $30 billion gas pipeline!

Lurch said he followed a higher authority than his Daddy in bringing premptive war to Iraq.

Sarah didn’t know what the Bush Doctrine was although she was chief “barracuda” of the Alaskan National Guard.

Lurch had come up with the most irresponsible, dangerous foreign policy in the history of the United States, and she was not aware of it? And being so close to Russia…

Is Sarah Pro-Choice For Her Own And Pro-Life For Everybody Else?

Sarah says she is pro-life and that an abortion should only be permitted in case the mother’s life is endangered. I wish she would clear up her statement that her 17-year-old unmarried pregnant daughter Bristol had “a choice” when she learned she had failed an abstinence lesson. Just what was Bristol’s choice? An abortion?

Sarah has said that a pregnancy caused by rape or incest must be taken to term.
What if a husband rapes his wife?

What if an 11-year-old child becomes pregnant by her father? There is an interesting case in Europe right now of a pregnant 11-year-old and whether she should bring the baby to term. Church authorities and government agencies are split on the issue.

Sarah, pregnant with child, evidently had amniocentesis and knew she was going to have a Down’s Syndrome baby. Why did she have the test when she knew according to her beliefs she would carry the baby to term anyway? What would she have done if the test had revealed her baby had no brain? Or no arms or legs? Or three pairs of limbs like the little Indian girl? What was the purpose of the test—the possibility of in-utero med treatments?

George Bush and John McCain continue to say they are pro-life. Lurch claims Billy Graham gave him a lifeline to religion while walking on a sandy beach, and that Jesus Christ is his favorite philosopher.

When Lurch lost his first election to a Texas religious fundamentalist, he said he would never be “out-Christianed” again. I have never thought Lurch was a believer. I think he is just a user.

When a person celebrates his “religion” by using it to invade countries and support dictators around the world—and then consistently supports the haves and have-mores against the poor—I question his “religious” fervor and his knowledge of the philosophy of Christ.
Now, as Newsweek writes, at a 24 percent approval rating, he is no longer even a “lame duck.” He’s a wooden decoy stuck on a White House mantel.

Sarah Is A Dangerous Religious Extremist

I believe Sarah is a dangerous religious extremist because she is palling around with the James Dobson-Pat Robertson-John Hagge-Ted Haggard-Richard Land-Jimmy Swaggart crowd who are constantly looking for the Anti-Christ and waiting for Armageddon, the “End Times,” the “Rapture,” and the “Left Behind.”
Do you really want a religious nut running around armed with the nuclear codes, knowing that she can bring on “The End Times” whenever she pushes a few buttons? What does she really say when she speaks in tongues?

There are over 60 million white evangelicals in the U.S., many of them who have gone ga-ga over their Joan-of-Arc Sarah Palin. She has a very likable “golly-gee”, “gosh-darned,” “you betcha,” “Joe-Sixpack” and “Redneck” personality and knows how to use her sex appeal just like a beauty queen should.

I noticed during her debate with Joe Biden that men found her much more appealing and attractive than women on the instant “Likeometer.” Let’s just say it has been scientifically proven that there is not enough blood in the male body to run the penis and the brain at the same time.

Is The End Of The World Coming?

Of the 60 million evangelicals in the umbrella group, about 24 million believe that every word in the Bible is literally true. More than 20 million believe the end of the world is coming in their lifetime. Sarah’s church pastor believes that millions of people may trek to Alaska to seek shelter after “The Rapture” and during the “End Times.”

In many evangelical churches women cannot be trusted to teach the Bible from the pulpit or even lead prayers. In many they must always submit to their husbands. If John McCain dies in office, will the “Big Dude,” the snow-machine driver, actually be our Big Daddy in the White House?

If she can’t teach men in church or in the home, how can she be Commander-In-Chief of our military forces and leader of the free world? Where in the Bible does it say that women can have major political roles in nations and tribes? I googled in despair.

In the end, the evangelicals went giddy over Sarah because she is pro-life and didn’t fall off the stage at the convention.

Geez! And I Haven’t Got To Dick Cheney And Sarah Palin Yet!

In many ways Sarah is also a Dick Cheney with boobs. Cheney is a fascist of the first order who believes “deficits don’t matter.” He doesn’t even believe in the U.S. Constitution or the treaties we have with other countries.

Sarah doesn’t know what is in the Constitution—so she is just like Lurch. At least she didn’t know what was in the Constitution section about the vice-presidency.

She might be as dangerous as Dick Cheney as vice-president because she seems to be Machiavellian in her decision-making. She fired people without reasonable cause as a mayor and governor. She tried to censor books in the Wasilla Library. She put her friends and cronies into positions of power with a wink and a smile.

Her non-answers about constitutional questions in the debate were incoherent. We expect that a candidate who might end up the leader of the free world will know more than we do.

The real danger is she could become another Cheney in her ignorance and have utter contempt for the Constitution.

Cheney’s right-hand fascist assistant David Addington, under Cheney’s direction, ended up shredding the Constitution and giving us Abu Ghraib, the dumping of the Geneva Convention rules on torture, the entire Gitmo detainee legal mess, the “black” sites in foreign countries used for torture, the illegal wiretapping of our own citizens, our troops being “welcomed as liberators” in Iraq, the ever-present mushroom cloud of Condi Rice, and the “discovery” of weapons of mass destruction in Iraq.

Colin Powell, who finally gave up fighting the fascism of Cheney and Addington, said neither believed in the Constitution.

Cheney is often called the Darth Vader of the Bush Administration. I think we should check to see how many nipples he has. In the Dark and Middle Ages women accused of witchcraft were often checked to see if they had three or more nipples. If they did, they were accused of suckling Satan on the third nipple.

Many of them were burned at the stake. Anne Boleyn, the second wife of that rascal King Henry VIII, lost her head at the block because it was rumored she had a third nipple. In that about one out of every 18 women and men have three nipples, chances are some of our leaders and friends have three. Excess nipples are caused by the Scaramanga Gene, named after a James Bond movie villain who could only be identified that way. Most of our Salem witches burned at the stake had this abnormality.

A few years ago, Claire Sargent, an Arizona candidate for the Senate, said: “I think it’s about time we voted for senators with breasts. After all, we’ve been voting for boobs long enough.”

I agree with her. But Sarah Palin is not ready to be first in line to succeed the president of the United States. I have always considered George Bush too dumb to impeach. And look who we would get to succeed him: Cheney—a fascist with Stalinist tendencies.

I’m afraid Sarah has far too many of the qualities of Bush and Cheney. They have driven us to economic and military disasters and to the point where we are a pariah among nations. Sarah would do the same.

Early in his campaign a Florida woman asked John McCain what he could do to “beat the bitch,” an obvious reference to Hillary Clinton at the time. McCain didn’t chastize the woman, he smiled and seemed to get a kick out of her reference. Now he has one by his side in the campaign. I smell Karl Rove and his buddy Steve Schmidt, McCain’s campaign manager, in all of this.

I feel sorry for her. But we should expect that a potential president will know more than the average person about problems—both foreign and domestic. It is McCain’s fault his vice-presidential choice doesn’t even come close.
