Congratulations on turning 16, HPR.
Editor Cindy Gomez writes the most cogent and thought-provoking editorials in HPR’s history, period. She appears to have inspired a distinctive topical inclusiveness, such as the addition of feminism and alternative lifestyles; along with HPR’s traditional celebration of the arts and downtown Fargo.
Greg Carlson continues to be the Red River Valley’s preeminent voice in thoughtful film reviews. As a film fan, I wish I could read his column every day.
Ed Raymond’s weekly jihad against his perceived demons—the Roman Catholic Church and the Republican Party—is a long-time staple of the little tabloid that could. He is a Glenn Beck and Eddie Schultz rolled into one, equally frothing and brutal.
The written work of Gomez, Carlson and Raymond (I call them The Good, the Good and the Ugly) keeps me as a reader.
