Apples to Oranges

To the Editor:

I can’t help but take a moment to comment on Maria Wilson’s letter in the July 31, 2008 edition of the High Plains Reader.  Being an independent hospitality owner, I empathize with her frustration as we all work to bring something unique and different in food and beverage choices to the patrons in this area.
We all work hard to offer homemade, local, chef-inspired foods versus corporate kitchen foods.
Any of us who are independents welcome an unbiased and equal-footing critique of our establishments.  Then comparison, in my view, needs to be apples to apples.
