The NEED to Vote Yes
The NEED to Vote Yes
To the Editor:
There is no chance that this bond referendum issue is going to go away for West Fargo because the NEED is real.
I hope that the voters in the West Fargo School District have taken the time to read the information concerning the proposal for four new school buildings.
The voters can delay the construction longer and impact the education of thousands of children, but at some point new schools WILL be built because there simply isn’t enough space for the students in the district.
The school board and administration formed a committee to study this issue and held several community meetings for input prior to formally bringing this plan to the voters. Not only do we have the privilege to vote on this issue, but we’ll have a voice in how the money is spent as well. The first elementary would replicate Aurora saving design fees and time; but the school board has made a commitment to work with the community to design the other facilities.
We all have a civic responsibility to educate the children in our community. The public school system in America is responsible for educating our youth and preparing them to become contributing members of our society.
Voters in the West Fargo School District can postpone the schools now by voting no, but this issue will not go away. When there is a true and real NEED like we have in West Fargo, eventually the need will be met. I sincerely hope enough people understand the situation now and make the effort to VOTE YES on May 24th!
