LEGO Indiana Jones
From the creators of LEGO Star Wars comes another great LEGO movie adaptation.
LEGO Indiana Jones spans all three movies, letting you take control of the most memorable scenes from “Raiders of the Lost Ark,” “Temple of Doom,” and “The Last Crusade” with amazing detail and attention to the little quirks of the films--like Indy’s fear of snakes--and lovingly recreate them with the comedy of LEGO.
Gameplay is fairly straightforward with tried and true platforming and plain but fun combat. If you’ve ever played LEGO Star Wars you’ll feel right at home since little has changed.
Basic progression through the game requires searching for keys, building things out of LEGO blocks, and solving surprisingly well-thought-out puzzles. Nothing in the game is too hard since it’s aimed at the younger crowd, but adult players will be surprised at the quality of gameplay. I know I was.
Graphics, while simple, are fantastic. The characters themselves are hilarious. Whether it be their facial expressions or their gestures, you’re sure to get more then a couple of laughs from Indy and crew. The graphics are downright awesome. Everything from the LEGO blocks to the backgrounds, everything, is beautifully.detailed.
Controls are somewhat frustrating at first. You’ll need to learn how to time your jumps and contest with the controller not responding. I had a hard time when I first started, so much so that I almost quit playing, but after getting the hang of things, the game played like a dream.
I really enjoyed LEGO Indiana Jones and I think you will too. Kids will like the action and the puzzles while older gamers will get lost in nostalgia watching the most memorable moments from the movies transformed into LEGOs. If you’re looking for a simple yet fun platformer, pick up LEGO Indiana Jones. There really is more to it than meets the eye.
