MacHeist 2008 is crazy insane

If you’re not a Mac user this entry will not appeal to you. If you are a Mac user however and haven’t yet heard of MacHeist now is the time because three days from now the deal will be over. This is the second year the MacHeist team has offered a bundle of Mac shareware applications at an insanely great price. Last year however was marred in controversy when it was found out the creators of the deal made a boatload of money on the backs of the developers they brought on board. I am not sure if the developers this year were able to work out better conditions or not but I do know that the software bundle this time around kicks last years bundle in the ass.

A 14th application was added today that will be ‘unlocked’ if the total sales break $300,000 in the next three days. If/when that happens the total value of the bundle will be $498.60. For 1/10 the price of all the software together you get all 14 applications. Fully unlocked. Fully licensed to you. If you already own one or two of the apps you can gift them to a friend (like I did with AppZapper which I already had 3 licenses for thanks to MacZot).

Some of this years included software costs more alone than the price of the bundle. Snapz Pro is $69. Pixelmator is $59. iStopMotion is $49. VectorDesigner (still waiting to be unlocked) is $69.95. Prior to the applications being unveiled this year I was already preparing to buy Snapz Pro. When I saw it in the bundle with other software for less than I was going to pay for it I didn’t hesitate a moment to purchase the bundle. To top it off, if you’ve purchased the bundle and refer two more people that also buy it (which I was able to do) you get two more apps to bring the total to 16 for the same insane price of only $49.

All the applications included in the MacHeist 2008 bundle are: VectorDesigner, Snapz Pro X, Pixelmator, CSSEdit, AppZapper, Tiki Magic Mini Golf, 1password, CoverSutra, Cha-Ching, iStopMotion, Awaken, Speed Download, Wingnuts 2, TaskPaper, LaunchBar and Notebook.

If you got a nice shiny new Mac for the holidays, you’ll likely find a few apps in this bundle that are useful to you. Get it before it’s gone.
