17th Annual Ashley Rodeo Days

Best Bets | July 20th, 2022

 Saturday, August 6, 7pm to Sunday, August 7, 7pm

ACRC Arena

The Ashley Community Rodeo Club (ACRC), in Ashley, McIntosh County, hopes to bring our western heritage back to Ashley with many events. It is a celebration of Ashley, not just rodeo events, with games for all ages and a huge street dance. And not just a rodeo either, but a championship PRCA-sanctioned event with professional riders and performers. New event: Ladies’ Breakaway with many competitors from the Badlands Circuit. Breakaway is a variation of calf roping; a calf is roped, but not thrown and tied, by one mounted rider. The calves are moved one at a time through narrow runs leading to a chute with spring-loaded doors. We think the best part is being in the crowd. The whole town has been raising funds for the rodeo all year. In April they held a soup and sausage fundraiser and produced handcrafted and unique items to auction.
