C. McKenzie Lewis, assistant professor of classical studies, will present a lecture titled “Analysis and Database of the 1989-1994 Excavation Materials from the Villa del Vergigno, Montelupo Fiorentino, Tuscany” in the Morrie Jones Conference Center. Lewis, along with students Noah Dovre and Morgan Hinton, will present research performed on over 10,000 artifacts from a first century B.C. Roman Villa in Tuscany, Italy. The artifacts include remains of glass, coins, bones, ceramics and metal objects and possibly hold the key to what life was like in a villa during a period of change for the Roman Empire.
