Area jazz fans were saddened to learn recently that their main local venue for jazz Studio 222 will be closing soon. But at least not before some last hurrahs like the Carlester Crumpblee Orchestra this Friday. Led by veteran musician Tom Johnson who recently fled to the Twin Cities, this gypsy jazz group has wowed local crowds with their phenomenal playing and styles. All-ages welcome, cover is $10. Probably your last chance to catch Carlester for quite a while as well with Tom’s move.
