Theatre NDSU and Theatre B to perform ‘Romeo and Juliet’

Theatre NDSU will partner with Theatre B to launch its 2025–2026 season. The organizations will perform a co-production of Shakespeare’s “Romeo and Juliet” featuring actors from NDSU and Theatre B. It runs October 16-November 1.

This version of the classic story of star-crossed lovers is a contemporary adaptation by Theatre B’s artistic director, Jon Micheels Leiseth. It’s set in a stylized world where Italian Renaissance themes and motifs merge with 1940’s Italy. Juliet and Romeo connect despite attempts by their families — and a threatening authoritarian regime — to keep them apart.

“Romeo and Juliet” will begin the first leg of its dual venue run at October 16 – 18 at NDSU’s Walsh Studio Theatre in Askanase Hall (1497 12th Ave. N. in Fargo).  The production begins at 7:30 p.m.

The show moves to Theatre B (215 10th St. N. in Moorhead) for the remaining performances. Shows Oct. 24 – 25, 29 – 31, and Nov. 1 will take the stage at 7:30 p.m. At 2 p.m. matinee is scheduled for Sunday, Oct. 26.
