Drekker celebrates one year

Drekker brewing company is celebrating its first year in business and it’s going to be one hell of a party. The brewery and taproom, located in downtown Fargo, will feature new beer, live music, brewery tours and more. The celebration will be this Saturday, Oct. 3, so set a reminder.

The brewery will be open Saturday from 12 p.m.-1 a.m. and there will be something for everyone (21+)! Stop in and grab a pint and see why Drekker Brewing Company has seen so much success.

If you are an NDSU Bison fan, fear not. The game will be playing on their eight-foot projector screen so you can partake in the all the fun and beer and not miss a play!

The live music begins at 5-10 p.m. There will also be stellar cask tappings all day and specialty infusion brews on tap for the party. If that isn’t enough, Drekker will unveil their new fall seasonal, “Oh My Gourd Becky!” pumpkin ale…

From 12-1 p.m. there will be a free Grains to Glass Tour. You can sign up for the tour by going to drekkerbrewing.com. Use the code: DREKKERFEST (all caps) to gain access. I have been on this tour before and it is not one to miss. It is very informative and gives the patrons an inside look at the process of making beer and what really goes into it.

Following the tour from 1-4 p.m. there will be an UnPillage Charity Bags Tournament to benefit 4 Luv of Dog Rescue. Get a team of two ready and sign up online on the DrekkerFest Facebook event page. The cost is $5 and will all be donated to the dogs, plus you have a chance to win beer and other goodies. But here is where it gets really good. The winning team will get the Drekker Anniversary Swag Package and tons of free beer. Show support for the dogs while impressing your friends with your amazing bag throwing skills.

Now, let’s talk about the live music. The back alley behind Drekker Brewing Company will be taken over by O’Fosho and The Vistas. You can jam out to some funky fresh rhymes from 5-10 p.m. while munching on some savory pizza made by Blackbird Woodfire and enjoy more crazy limited edition casks.

If you want a sneak peek at Drekker’s new pumpkin ale, “Oh My Gourd Becky!”, you can swing by the Red River Market’s Fall Pumpkin Festival where they will be giving out samples and selling growlers from 10am-2pm. The Red River Market is located on Broadway and 2nd Ave. N in Fargo.
