If you were having withdrawals from not being able to see your favorite bartenders from Sidestreet, fear not! Sidestreet Grille and Pub is now open in its new location, 404 Fourth Ave. N, in downtown Fargo. It’s open from 11 a.m.-2 a.m. Monday through Sunday.

The once-beloved, wood-paneled hangout that was connected to the Howard Johnson was moved a couple blocks away, as a large dike is set to be built parallel to the mighty Red River.

Sidestreet got a facelift when it moved, complete with a very industrial feel, larger stage area and plenty of room for dancing. Sidestreet has been know to host some amazing bands and its new location does not disappoint. O’Fosho played November 14 christening the new stage, and followed by Reina Del Cid on Saturday, Nov. 21.

photo by Chiharu Sato Bobby ant to get in your fill of bar games? Well you are in luck because the pool tables, dartboards, pull-tabs and blackjack table(s) made the trek from the old to new location as well.

Sidestreet has always had an impressive, ever-changing tap lineup, but wait until you get a peek at the new and remarkable lines -- boasting 50 tap handles from beer across the country, ranging from your typical domestics to seasonal favorites. Sidestreet really came through!

This is a very exciting change for Sidestreet and the ever-growing craft beer society. Not only are there local brews from Fargo Brewing Co. and Drekker Brewing Co., but favorites from Deschutes, Summit and Bells.

There has been some concern about the upkeep of the tap lines and proper glassware, as people gain more information about craft beer and the necessary upkeep that goes along with it, but I have no doubt in my mind that the managers and bartenders will only serve the best possible products they can.

photo by Chiharu Sato Bobby Sidestreet has been a staple bar in Fargo for almost 15 years, and many devoted patrons have expressed their excitement about the new location and what it will do for the community.

Although it is bittersweet that we will no longer be able to walk through those double doors and hang out in the large patio that once was, it is exciting to enjoy a new place in a new location with the same bartenders that make us all feel like family.

If you haven’t been to the new location I strongly suggest it. I had the opportunity to check out the new digs and, just as it was before, the friendly bartenders, servers and bouncers will make sure you feel welcome and invited.

I hope to see you out!
