Due to an overwhelmingly positive response to the 2014 pilot Arts Resource Fair, the Lake Region Arts Council (LRAC), will host another Arts Resource Fair on June 25, 2016.
The Lake Region Arts Council is the largest arts funder in West Central Minnesota, and will again host this innovative project, which is designed to help regional artists connect with the wide variety of statewide resources.
The Arts Resource Fair, taking place on June 25th, represents LRAC’s partnerships with over 25 statewide arts organizations, including the MN State Arts Board, the McKnight Foundation, the Jerome Foundation, the Northern Clay Center, MN Music Coalition, The Loft Literary Center, Springboard for the Arts, and MN Citizens for the Arts, to name a few.
What is an “Arts Resource Fair”? It is an event that provides regional artists and statewide arts organizations the opportunity to meet and get to know each other. The “Arts Resource Fair” is a time to connect, communicate, and create community. Artists will have the opportunity to meet and talk with grant makers, exhibition/performance venues, and a variety of organizations that want to help them become better artists, singers, dancers, writers or performers.
There will be panel discussions, workshops and guest speakers. By attending, an artist will be better prepared to advance their career goals and become aware of new opportunities to contribute to the growth and vitality of their communities.
Supported by the Arts and Cultural Heritage Fund, the Arts Resource Fair is free and open to all and every kind of artists who live in Minnesota. Registration is required to ensure that there are enough materials and food for everyone. Deadline to register is June 17, 2016.
