Jon Offutt public reception and installation scheduled for July 29

Arts | July 24th, 2025

Press Release

Touchmark at Harwood Groves will host a special artist reception featuring renowned glass artist Jon Offutt on Tuesday, July 29, at 2:00 p.m. in the community’s auditorium. The event celebrates Offutt’s temporary art installation and offers attendees the opportunity to meet the artist and hear about his creative journey.

Offutt, a longtime Fargo resident, is the artist and owner of House of Mulciber Glass Studio. With a B.A. in studio art from Minnesota State University Moorhead and an M.F.A. in glass from Southern Illinois University Carbondale, Offutt has developed a unique style that blends traditional technique with striking, modern forms. His work appears in several permanent museum collections, including the Plains Art Museum and Rourke Art Museum.

In addition to his studio work, Offutt is known for his Mobile Glassblowing Studio, an outreach initiative supported by North Dakota State University and the Kellogg Foundation. Through this platform, he brings live glassblowing demonstrations to communities across the country. He also co-organizes the Fargo-Moorhead Studio Crawl, North Dakota’s largest art crawl.

“Jon Offutt’s work is both beautiful and deeply rooted in community,” says Touchmark Executive Director Anne-Marie Fitz. “We’re honored to showcase his art and offer our residents and guests a personal connection to his story.”

The reception is open to the public and part of Touchmark’s ongoing efforts to celebrate regional talent and create vibrant opportunities for cultural engagement.
