With the theme of “Existence is Resistance: Healing Through Unity,” this year’s summit will kick off with a professional development day followed by a social. This component of the summit offers training sessions for professionals who seek to learn more surrounding LGBTQIA2S+ issues in North Dakota. In conjunction with the summit, visit the first annual Queer Art Show and 17th annual LGBT Film Festival on Saturday, October 4. Award-winning journalist and author Nico Lang is this year’s keynote speaker as part of their 50-state book tour. According to their bio, “With honors including a GLAAD Media Award, 10 awards from the National Association of LGBTQ Journalists (NLGJA), three awards from the Los Angeles Press Club and the inaugural Visibility Award from the Transgender Legal Defense and Education Fund (TLDEF), Lang brings both deep insight and lived experience to this year’s gathering.” For tickets and additional info check out: www.ndlgbtqsummit.com.
