Summer is a tough time for families who depend on free or reduced-price school meals, so YMCA of the Northern Sky will provide nutritious, no-cost meals to kids 18 and under through August 26. Breakfast and lunch are available at various sites in Fargo and West Fargo, as well as a number of rural communities throughout North Dakota and Minnesota as part of the organization's Hunger Heroes Summer Meal Program. All meals meet U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) nutritional standards.
Individuals can also sign up to help in their own communities. The YMCA of the Northern Sky is currently looking for volunteers and corporate sponsors, as well as individuals and groups who are willing to host a food drive. See the website for additional details.
