Lunafest is a film festival featuring short films made by women, for women and about women. The festival works to give women an opportunity to tell a story through film, but also as a way of raising money for nonprofits in communities hosting the event and for their main beneficiary, the Breast Cancer Fund. Since forming in 2000, the festival has grown from a single annual event to more than 175 screenings around the U.S. each year and has raised nearly $2.9 million.
