BEST OF THE BEST

Culture | April 14th, 2016

Each year we reach out to our readers and send a poll in which they can nominate their favorite hot spots, talents and personalities in the community, so we can find out the best of the best in Fargo/Moorhead. The voting will all be done online via www.hpr1.com or via our Facebook page.

Needless to say we want you to set the scene. Tell us about the top eats, the coolest digs, best gigs, top bands, artists and performers in Fargo Moorhead.

This might sound a bit overwhelming, but the survey is broken down into four parts: “People and Places,” “Arts and Entertainment,” “Food” and “Drink.” We strive to acknowledge the area’s best hot spots and creatives in the area’s longest-running media poll — meaning we’ve been comparing apples to oranges for over 20 years!

For the first part of our survey we collect some demographic information — because we really want to get to know you better. This consists of your age, sex, location, how often you pick up HPR and where you pick up HPR.

This year we have a few new categories. We have best stylist, best barber, best performance DJ, best restaurant service, best server, best food truck and best place to take someone from out of town.

The Best of the Best starts out in two phases. Balloting starts on April 14 and ends on April 30. This is where we ask our readers to nominate their choices.

From that point on we get serious and the real voting begins in phase two, from May 5 to May 15. The awards ceremony will be held the last week in May. Details and location will be announced at a later date.

Winners are top secret until the night of the awards. High Plains Reader personnel are not allowed to compete and nominations need to be local.

Sound like a plan? Now ready, set, VOTE!
