BEER-thoven retrospect: Fargo Brewing Company

Fargo Brewing Company responded to Junkyard with an equally impressive turnout for its BEER-thoven event.

People showed up to support the arts and enjoy local craft beer. Ranging from old to young, the crowd was excited to be there and share a pint with their neighbors.

I had the opportunity to speak with Brad Delzer from Theatre B who coordinated the event with the breweries. He spoke of the importance of bringing the arts and beer together and involving the community. It was a pleasure to discuss all the events happening at Theatre B with Brad while we enjoyed Fargo Brewing Company’s signature BEER-thoven brew, “Magnum Opus.”

Fargo Brewing Company’s “Magnum Opus”(ABV 8.1 IBU 55): a Baltic Porter infused with very noticeable hints of vanilla beans and a subtle finish of dates. This beer has a full body, deep in color with an abundant head.

Fargo-Moorhead Symphony Tuba Quartet was pumping out music again, and I had the opportunity to speak with Dr. John Tesch. He taught at Minnesota State University Moorhead for 38 years in the music department, and he plays a variety of music, from jazz to pop. Tesch really appreciated the turnout, not only for the music but for the arts too.

“It is good to know people appreciate and enjoy what we are doing,” he said.

No matter where you went in the brewery, you were greeted by Zoey the brew dog, always looking for to play with someone new. She is a very friendly dog and made this event a little more special by bringing people together to gush over how cute she is.

The buzz surrounding the BEER-thoven happy hours has been phenomenal. Every event has received a great turnout and the word has been spreading all month and everyone is looking forward to the next one. Beethoven (local realtor/actor Jay Nelson) has been giving out passports at every event, and if you see him make sure you get a stamp from him to prove you were at every event. It is never too late to pick one up!

I have been having so much fun at each event, and I cannot wait to see what Drekker has in store for us!
