Ten North Dakota communities will participate in the nationwide No Kings Day of Peaceful Action on October 18. The grassroots movement is a nonviolent protest against President Trump’s actions, including sending National Guard troops into U.S. cities without the consent of state and local authorities.
Over 2,500 rallies, protests and community actions are scheduled across the country, including events in Fargo, Grand Forks, Bismarck, Valley City, Jamestown, Dickinson, Williston, Devils Lake, Minot and Bottineau. Minnesota communities, including Detroit Lakes, Fergus Falls, Perham and Pelican Rapids are also participating. For a complete list of No Kings events, visit NoKings.org.
The No Kings movement is committed to nonviolent protest and community safety. Organizers are trained in de-escalation techniques.
The Fargo-Moorhead event is coordinated by Moorhead and Fargo Indivisible chapters, in partnership with local AFL-CIO labor units and the ACLU. Numerous national partners are cooperating to organize peaceful No Kings protests across the country. They include the American Federation of Teachers, Common Defense, 50501, Indivisible, MoveOn, National Nurses United and many more. Find a complete list at nokings.org/partners.
