I am currently working with a medical doctor and the non-profit Community Uplift Program, to create an LGBTQ+ focused healthcare clinic that is designed to keep costs low for patients. This will be the only clinic of its kind within a 250 mile radius of Fargo and I can’t easily put into words how important this will be for the community.
While our ultimate goal is a fully functional health center that can handle all the health needs of the LGBTQ+ community, we are far from having the…

It’s a good idea to get warmed up for New Year’s, and why not start a day ahead of time, at The Aquarium, 226 Broadway upstairs, at 7:30pm, to see Radio Free Fargo And Dan Ellenson Present: F-M Songwriters Circle. We’ve been waiting for this one, Radio Free Fargo's Holiday benefit jamboree: a showcase of some of FM's best singer-songwriters! Ketel Wonder, Burlesque Performer and Pole Fitness Instructor, is the first polesque performer in North Dakota. Wonder’s journey began when she was 23.
“I attended my very first burlesque show at the Aquarium. It was a Bad Weather Burlesque show, and afterward I approached the Alabaster Disaster about how I could be involved in the production. Lo and behold, they were hosting their very first amateur night two months later. After about two years, I began taking pole classes in Fargo…

On the first day of Christmas my true love gave to me, a Grand Cru Burgundy. I wish! But unless you’ve been REAL good all year, you’re probably more likely to get a stocking full of coal.
Wine is always a great gift idea, especially during the holidays. Often people are flummoxed by what to purchase, so I get asked all the time, “What’s a good wine?”
And that’s a hard question. As a seller and lover of wine, I really try to get an…

Ask your computer friends which spreadsheet application is the best and you will probably get into a fight.
Spreadsheets are pretty boring, but are a necessary part of your computer life that you should at least have a passing knowledge of.
The definition of “spreadsheet” is as follows: a table of data arranged in columns and rows, often used in business and financial applications.
Spreadsheet software programs are widely used computer applications that allow the user to organize…

Ever since the Industrial Revolution, human technological advancement has been occurring at an unparalleled pace. Just as innovations such as the steam engine and electrical lighting have caused paradigm shifts in human life, so has the advent of the computer, and following that, the internet. Computers have pervaded industry and the workforce, creating new jobs and making tasks easier.
However, the change has occurred so quickly that naturally some have been left behind wondering what…

Stand-up comedian Adam Quesnell departed for greener pastures in Minneapolis, and surprisingly soon I found myself interviewing him about his upcoming return to Fargo to record his new album, “Despair 2,” at the Red Raven.
The Red Raven only made sense as a stage for the recording of the follow-up to Quesnell’s first popular “Can We Afford This Much Despair?” comedy album and his second full-length album with Stand Up! Records. After all, it has had…

Last week I wrote about what it means to be an activist. It can be very hard and emotionally draining work, but it can also be incredibly fulfilling. It can be a summer volunteer opportunity that individuals take on in order to spruce up their college application or it can be devotion to a cause year after year.
What matters is that individuals know where they want to volunteer their time, what they’re getting out of it, and how much time they can commit. Easy,…

Christopher Titus is never one to shy away from rattling cages. The most memorable comedians are the ones that walk that tenuous line between insanity and hilarity, between having the audience busting their guts laughing and rioting in the streets. Perhaps it’s that quality that made him stand out to me when his eponymous show “Titus,” about a semi-fictional version of himself, aired on Fox for three seasons, back in 2000.
It was truly a sitcom ahead of its time. Here I saw a man…
By Josette Ciceronunapologeticallyanxiousme@gmail.com What does it mean to truly live in a community —or should I say, among community? It’s a question I have been wrestling with since I moved to Fargo-Moorhead in February 2022.…
